Last Updated: 15.06.2025
Welcome to Opportunica. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your data when you visit our website or use our services. By using Opportunica, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect both personal information and non-personal information when you interact with our website or services.
1.1 Personal Information
We may collect the following personal information in various scenarios:
- Account Sign-Up: When you create an account or sign up for our services, we collect your name, email address, company name (or domain), phone number, and job title.
- Demo/Contact Requests: If you request a demo, consultation, or contact us for support, we collect your contact details and any information you provide in your request.
- Newsletter Subscription: When you subscribe to our newsletter or other marketing communications, we collect your email address and communication preferences.
- Communications: If you communicate with us (e.g. via email, support chat, or forms), we collect the information you provide in those communications.
1.2 Non-Personal Information
We also collect certain information automatically when you use our website:
- Technical Data: This includes your browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
- Usage Data: We record data about your activity on our site, such as the pages or features you access, the time spent on pages, navigation paths, and referring website or URL.
- IP Address and Geolocation: We log your IP address which may provide an approximate geolocation (country, city).
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your interactions (see Section 6 below for details). This can include unique identifiers, preferences, and web traffic data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Providing Services: To create and manage your account, authenticate you, and deliver the features and services you request.
- Improving and Personalization: To analyze usage patterns and preferences in order to improve our website, services, and user experience. This helps us fix issues, optimize performance, and develop new features.
- Communications: To respond to your inquiries, support requests, or feedback. We also use your information to send administrative emails (e.g. password resets, service notifications).
- Marketing (With Consent): To send newsletters, updates, and promotional materials about Opportunica or our partners, but only if you have opted in to such communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Company Recognition: To identify your organization’s affiliation with our services. If you sign up using a corporate email domain, we may use your company’s name and logo to identify it as a user of Opportunica (for example, displaying the logo on our homepage or marketing materials). This usage is solely to indicate that someone from your company uses our services, not an endorsement. You may opt out of this identification at any time by contacting us, and we will promptly remove your company logo/name from public display.
- Legal Compliance: To ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements. For example, we may use your data to prevent fraud, security incidents, or misuse of our services.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share or disclose your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf. This includes services such as website hosting, data storage, analytics, email delivery, customer support, and marketing assistance. These third parties are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and to use it only for the purposes of providing services to us.
- Analytics: In particular, we use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how users interact with our site. These services may receive certain data (e.g. usage and device information, IP address) in order to provide aggregated analytical information to us. Analytics providers act as our data processors and are not permitted to use the data for their own unrelated purposes.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or legal process, or if we have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations. This includes responding to lawful requests by public authorities (e.g. for national security or law enforcement purposes).
- Protection of Rights: We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Opportunica, our users, or the public. For example, we might share information to investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service or to detect and prevent fraud or security issues.
- Business Transfers: If Opportunica is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other transaction, your information may be transferred to the successor or acquiring entity as part of that transaction. In such cases, we will ensure the recipient agrees to respect your personal data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
Except for the situations described above, we will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security practices include:
- Encryption: We use SSL/TLS encryption to secure data transmitted between your browser and our servers. This means that any personal data you send us (such as login credentials) is protected in transit.
- Access Controls: Personal data is accessible only to authorized personnel who require access to perform their job duties (for example, customer support or technical staff), and such access is controlled by authentication and internal policies.
- Security Testing: We implement firewalls and routinely monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. Regular security assessments and updates are applied to protect against threats.
- Third-Party Standards: When we use third-party service providers (hosting, payment, analytics, etc.), we ensure they meet high security standards for safeguarding data.
Please note that while we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You use our website and services at your own risk. In the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable data protection laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. These rights may include:
- Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to obtain information about how we process it.
- Correction: You have the right to request that we correct or update any inaccurate or incomplete personal information about you.
- Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”). We will honor deletion requests to the extent we are not legally obligated to retain the data.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: You have the right to withdraw consent or object to receiving marketing emails or newsletters. We provide an “unsubscribe” link in all such communications, or you can contact us to be removed from our marketing list.
- Objection to Processing: You may have the right to object to certain processing of your data, such as processing for direct marketing or based on our legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Data Portability: Where applicable, you have the right to request that we provide your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, or transfer it to another controller when technically feasible.
- Withdraw Consent: If we rely on your consent to process any personal information, you can withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@opportunica.com. We may need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming control of your email address or asking for additional information) before fulfilling your request. We will respond to your request within the time frame required by applicable law. Please note that some rights may be subject to limitations or exceptions under relevant laws; for instance, we might retain certain information if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or if the data is required for our legitimate business purposes.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve user experience, gather analytics, and support our marketing efforts. This section explains these technologies and your choices.
6.1 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites save to your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit. They enable the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, and other settings) over a period of time, so you don’t have to re-enter them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another. Cookies can also help us understand how you are using our site.
We also use related tracking technologies like web beacons (tiny graphics embedded on pages or emails) and local storage. For simplicity, we refer to all these technologies as “cookies” in this policy.
6.2 Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies on Opportunica:
- Essential Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They typically are set only in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling out forms. Essential cookies ensure basic features like page navigation, account login, and security are working properly.
- Analytics Cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use our site, which pages are popular, or if error messages are shown. We use this data to improve the website’s performance and user experience. For example, we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us analyze site traffic and user interactions. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous (e.g., total visitors, most viewed pages) and does not directly identify individual visitors.
- Functional Cookies: These cookies allow the site to remember choices you make (such as your language or region) and provide enhanced, more personalized features. They may also be used to provide services you’ve asked for, like live chat support or remembering your preferences.
- Advertising Cookies: (If applicable) These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. They perform functions like preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring ads are properly displayed for advertisers, or in some cases selecting advertisements based on your interests. Currently, Opportunica does not host third-party ads, but we include this category for completeness in case of future use.
6.3 Managing Cookies
You have the right to control and manage your cookie preferences. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies or alert you when a cookie is being placed on your device. Please note:
- If you disable essential cookies, certain parts of our site may not function properly (for example, you might not be able to log in or use some features).
- Disabling analytics or functional cookies will not prevent you from using our site, but it may limit our ability to personalize your experience or improve our services based on your usage.
- You can typically find cookie settings in the “Options” or “Preferences” menu of your browser. For more information on how to manage cookies in popular browsers, you can visit the browser’s support website.
Additionally, to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on provided by Google (available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). This plug-in prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits. (Note that this opt-out is specific to Google Analytics and does not affect other cookie types.)
For more details on our use of cookies, or to change your cookie preferences with us, please refer to any cookie banner or settings tool we provide on the site, or contact us for assistance.
7. Third-Party Services
Opportunica uses certain third-party services and integrations to operate our website and provide our offerings. When you use our site or services, these third parties may collect, process, or receive some of your data under our instructions. Key third-party services we use include:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our website. Google Analytics may set cookies or similar technologies to gather usage data (described in Section 6.2 above). This data helps us analyze web traffic and improve site functionality. The information generated by Google Analytics (including your IP address and usage info) may be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States or other countries. Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate use of our website and compile reports. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses where applicable (truncating the last octet of IPv4 addresses) to enhance your privacy. For more details, you can read Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics’ data practices. If you wish, you can opt out of Google Analytics as described in Section 6.3.
- Email and Marketing Platforms: We may use third-party email service providers (for example, mailing list or campaign services) to send out newsletters, verification emails, or other communications. These providers will have access to your email address and any necessary information (like your name) to fulfill those communications. They are prohibited from using your data for other purposes.
- Cloud Hosting and Storage: Our website and databases may be hosted on third-party cloud infrastructure platforms. Personal data you provide is stored on their secure servers. These providers implement strong security measures and are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Other Tools: We may integrate additional services such as customer support chat widgets, analytics tools, or social media features (e.g., a “Share” or “Login with [Provider]” button). If we do so, we will update this policy or provide notice. Any such features may collect your IP address and the page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to function properly. These features and widgets may be hosted by a third party and are governed by the privacy policy of the third party providing them.
Whenever we share data with third-party service providers, we do so under obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. We do not permit our third-party processors to use your personal information for their own marketing or other purposes unrelated to the services they provide to us.
Please note that our website may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by Opportunica. Clicking on those links will direct you to a third-party site. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as described in this Privacy Policy, and to comply with our legal and contractual obligations. Specifically:
- If you have an account with us, we will generally retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you choose to delete your account or if your account is terminated, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period after the account deletion, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
- Information collected for marketing purposes (such as your email for newsletters) is retained until you opt out or withdraw consent, after which we will remove your contact from our marketing list (while maintaining a record of your opt-out request).
- Usage data and analytics data may be retained in aggregate form (without personal identifiers) for an extended period for the purpose of statistical analysis and improvements to our services. If any usage logs are tied to personal identifiers, we either delete or anonymize such logs after a set period (commensurate with their purpose), unless we need to retain them longer to ensure the security of our systems or to comply with legal obligations.
- We may retain certain basic information even after account deletion as required to comply with laws (for example, records of transactions, consents, or communications may be kept for accounting, dispute resolution, or legal reporting purposes). When personal data is retained for legal reasons, it will be appropriately isolated and secured to prevent any further routine use.
Once the retention period expires, we will securely erase or anonymize your personal information to prevent it from being associated with you in the future.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use our website or submit any personal information to us.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in certain jurisdictions, which may be 16 in the European Economic Area), we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. Parents or guardians who believe that Opportunica might have collected information from their child should contact us promptly (see Section 12, Contact Us), and we will work to delete any such data.
10. California Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, CPRA) regarding your personal information. These rights include:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share (if applicable) about you. This includes the categories of personal information, the categories of sources, our business or commercial purposes for collecting the information, the categories of third parties with whom we share the information, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. For example, we may retain information needed to complete a transaction you requested, to detect security incidents, for legal compliance, or other reasons allowed by law.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: The CCPA gives you the right to opt out of the “sale” of your personal information or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. However, Opportunica does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary value. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a manner that would be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under CCPA. In the event this practice changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide a clear method for you to exercise your opt-out rights (such as a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our homepage).
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under CCPA. This means, for example, we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality of service just because you exercised your privacy rights. In certain cases, however, if the exercise of your rights limits our ability to process personal information (for instance, a deletion request), we may not be able to provide you the service or offer you certain features.
- Shine the Light: Separately from CCPA, California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code §1798.83) gives California residents the right to request information about whether a business has disclosed personal information to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Opportunica does not disclose personal information to third parties for direct marketing without consent. If you have questions about this practice, you may contact us as described below.
Exercising California Rights: If you are a California resident and would like to exercise any of the rights described above, you may submit a request to us by emailing privacy@opportunica.com with the subject line “California Privacy Rights Request.” Please describe your request with sufficient detail so that we can process it (for example, specify whether you are requesting disclosure of categories of information, specific pieces of information, deletion of certain data, etc.). We will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a CCPA request, which may involve asking you to confirm some personal details we already have on file or providing information about your interactions with us. If you use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, we may require proof of the agent’s authorization and your identity.
We aim to respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days as required by CCPA. If more time is needed (up to a total of 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension in writing.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email notice to registered users or by placing a prominent notice on our website prior to the changes taking effect).
It is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates. Your continued use of Opportunica’s website or services after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using our services and, if applicable, delete your account or opt out of the practices as described.
12. Contact Us
